thinkheads.ai is one person's engineering portfolio, running on hardware in his home. There are no accounts, no advertising, and no analytics scripts. This page says what happens to what you type. Last updated 21 September 2026.

What stays in the lab

  • Your conversation is answered by models running on the lab's own GPUs. It is not sent to a cloud AI provider.
  • It is kept for 48 hours after your last message, so you can come back to it, and is then deleted from the lab's database. The text of each message you send is logged for the same 48 hours and then deleted.
  • Deep Wipe deletes it at once: the conversation, its log entries, and your session. If the delete cannot be confirmed, Chief tells you so.
  • The only cookie is a session cookie that holds a random identifier, so the site can find your conversation. It is not used to track you anywhere else.
  • Your IP address is used to limit abuse and is not stored with your conversation.

What leaves the lab, and when

  • Web search. When a question needs the live web, the system writes a short search query and sends it to a third-party search provider (Tavily). Your message itself is not sent; e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and long numbers are removed from the query first. The provider may keep and use the queries it receives.
  • Pages you link. If you ask Chief to read a link, the lab's bot requests that page. The site sees the lab's bot, as described in the bot policy, not you.
  • Weather, places, and recipes. The place or dish you name is sent to the public service that answers it (Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap Nominatim, TheMealDB).
  • Images and video you generate are stored on the lab's storage and on Cloudflare R2 so your gallery can show them. They are not yet deleted automatically; Deep Wipe removes them from your gallery, not from storage. Do not put anything private in a prompt for an image.
  • Performance traces. A hosted tracing service (LangSmith) receives the shape and timing of each request so faults can be found. The text of your messages and of Chief's answers is withheld from it.
  • Cloudflare carries the traffic between you and the lab and sees what any web host would see.

What is kept longer

Usage records that contain none of your words: that a web search happened, the query the system wrote, how long it took, and whether it worked. These are kept for 90 days to keep the service healthy and within its limits.
